VBS

So last week my church had a VBS. (Vacation Bible School) I was a crew leader. This means that I have to watch over kids and make sure they have fun and pay attention. I already knew from training that I was in the Orange group. I was handed a piece of paper and I found out I had a group of all girls. There were five girls on the first day but Emily, one of the girls, was scared of me and did not come for the rest of the week.
:(    But for the rest of the week I had four happy girls, Lauren, Faith, Gabby, and Maddie. they were all well behaved and listened to the bible stories carefully.

Gabby: On Tuesday, Gabby, the youngest, listened to why we were collecting food and money. Our church was saving money for the Eskimos in Alaska. Gabby was given a packet of Top Ramen for her to eat if she got hungry. When she was told the story of the Eskimos in Alaska who had to pay about $14 for a box of cereal, she asked me for her Top Ramen. I thought she was hungry so I gave it to her. She grabbed it out of my hand and ran to the front of the sanctuary and placed the noodles in the basket where we were collecting donations. And I didn't even tell her to! I thought that was really cool.

Maddie: Maddie was probably the most talkative of all the girls, but has a very friendly personality. When I first met her, I hadn't met her before. We were complete strangers. I told her my name. She told me hers..............and talked about what she had done that morning like what cereal she ate and what time she woke up. She was so enthusiastic to talk about her family, her hobbies, and her pets. The worship team was walking onto the stage and I told her we had to start. She jumped up and when we started singing, she was sure she didn't miss one hand motion that Miss Kerry, did. (Miss Kerry made up hand motion to make the songs more fun.) I was amazed at how much she learned over the course of VBS, and she not only learned about how to tell others about Christ, but also how to trust God more.

Lauren: Lauren was the most silly but the most enthusiastic. She probably didn't sit out for anything that we did. I remember when I told my group to go play in the games rotation. In one of the games there was a collision. A girl was crying and no one really noticed except a few kids. Lauren was the one who took action. While the rest of the kids just watched the girl cry, she ran to me telling me what happened. Lauren may attack you with hugs when you don't expect her too but she is very caring and considerate to the people around her.

Faith: Probably the most timid of the group, Faith was my little helper. She held my bag, kept the girls in line when I wasn't watching, helped clean up the mess after snack, and much more. Faith kept everything organized. On the last day, the kids brought swimsuits for the slippin' slide. When they were changed all our stuff was a big pile of towels, sun block, bags, and clothing. Faith sat down next to the pile and folded the towels and clothes and made four neat piles of stuff. Wow. What kids can do without you telling them to.

So thats all folks. T-T-F-N!

Taiwan

Currently, me and my family are located in Taiwan. I like it. But it's really hot. Since everyone has one here, my mom bought me a sun umbrella. It actually comes in handy. Today we went to  Taipei 101. I dont know what place it takes in largest building but it was HHHHUUUUUUGE. My dad is at work right now but we're surviving without him. Summer

Yep. That's right. Summer. No school, no homework, no teachers, or late night projects. Do you know what this means? It means I made it through sixth grade! WOOOOOWW. These days I've been learning my mom's original language, Filipino (Tagalog). Its really fun. My brother made me a small stack of books for me to read. In this stack, the books include Tm Sawyer, Larklight, By the Great Horn Spoon, Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, and Murder in Mesopotamia. Lots of reading. Today we unexpectedly had to walk home from a car repair place. Unfortunately I was wearing Flip-Flops and my feet were pink when I came home. I also talk a lot these days to my friend, Becky. She is funny and makes a lot of nice jokes. :) On the last day of school, I was nominated by my piers to get an award for being nice kind and respectful and laughing at jokes even though they may not be funny. Interesting. Tomorrow me and my family may go swimming in the morning when no one is there. I like the idea. Tonight I hope that me and my family will play Monopoly together. Anyways.

Computer Programming Fun

So recently I've been going to a club at school that teaches me computer programming. It's so much fun. We meet every Friday after school. Me and a few of my friends go there and we all have stayed there for more than one week so I guess its fun. :) There are students from the high school across the street who teach us about how to make fun games. There is this one teacher , Colin, who is ultra nice and actuall teaches me new stuff. Some of the other teachers just walk around and are the "what he said" sort of people. I'm glad that there is someone like Colin in the group, so I actually learn something. So that's all. :)

Community Garden!!

So, I was sitting at the breakfast table with my family and we were talking about jobs. My dad came up with this fabulouse idea for me to do. He said that it would be cool for me to open a community garden on our church's property. Our church has all this land that is not being used, so I think that it would be a good idea. First I would need to ask the church if they would let me use the land. That won't take very long.....i don't think. Also I would have to clear off some of the weeds of the land, because that land is messy. I probably would want to get funds for this too ._. This thing is probably going to be expensive because I would have to buy wood(for planter boxes), Soil, seeds, and a lot more stuff...I'll also ask some of my friends to he lp me in this, cause I have a friend who loves to garden and I think that she would like the idea. I will blog more information later.

Sunday: What is going on! THIS!

So today we went to church.(duh) When we came home we ate lunch and then made pie. That is the summary of my day. There are so many things that are going on in my life these days!! First, school. School takes up the majority of my weeks. Margh. It can get frustrating. In band we are getting ready for our first concert of the year, our Halloween concert! If you would like to look up the songs the songs are Highlights from Harry Potter, Ghosts in the Graveyard, Monster under the Bed, Ancient Voices, Aliens Landing, and Pit and the Pendulum. :3 They are all so fun! For the looks, we are going to put cauldrons full of dry ice everywhere! We also will put a bunch of black lights everywhere and face paint our faces white so our faces will glow! If we want we can put on masks. Another thing I plan on doing soon is making an animation. As most people who know me know, I love to draw! I will not give too much away so it will be a surprise! For this week, my dad is in Taiwan for a business trip, so he won't be able to go to my concert :( But that's okay. We're going to videotape it for him. At my school I have joined the Battle of the Books(BOB). BOB is where a bunch of kids from different schools in our area compete while reading. Before the competition we choose "experts" on a book. I want to be the expert on "The Dangerous Days of Daniel X." It is a great book so far.
Anyways, thatsums up whats going on for now. I'll try to blog tomorrow!

Reading

I have decided that will make a list of books that I want to read in the next year of school. The first book is "So you want to be a Wizard" and its series. Then I have something like Eragon. Then maybe the Merlin series. I think that is a good list for now! Ten books.

YES!!!

Yay! I'm finally going to middle school! I've been waiting soooo long. I'm excited because it is something new that I have never done before. Plus I get to see my friends again. :) Wow! This is the first time that I have more than one teacher!! There is this one test that all the fifth graders took last year that would tell the district if we could skip sixth grade math and go on to seventh grade math! So happy! Anyways, I'll try to write more tomorrow.

Yay!

We just got back from Colombia. It was ultra fun. We worked with our old friends. I also got to meet their daughters. They were awful nice. When we were there we ran many VBSs and Children's programs. One day we went to a small village name Guarne where we stayed for one night. The people there likes soccer and vollyball. We came home on the 29th and I was very glad. Then I found out that we are going on another trip to Seattle. And then after that we are going on another trip. I think that I will be sick of traveling. But after all of that is my birthday so I think that I will be fine. Oh, also I'm about to go to 6th grade. YAY!! Anyways

Random Ranting

I like to randomly rant sometimes because it makes me feel good. I've been reading about dragons a lot lately. The book is called How to Raise and Keep a Dragon by John Topsell. Sometimes I get tied to the book so much that it sometimes makes me think that dragons are real. Ha Ha Ha!! Silly me. Dragons aren't real. Well maybe they are out there somewhere that I don't know. Maybe they live in an alternate world. My friend Erich and I started to make a fort at his house. It is so cool. It even has two "rooms" in it. It's a nice place to hang out in the shade. Anyways, I need to go to bed now bwcause it is already 10:05 pm!

All Girls Day. 3/19/11

Today my brother had to go to this robotics club meeting and my dad went with him so we are left only with my mom, my sister, and I. We went shopping in the morning so my mom went to Marshalls and my sister and I went to Borders and Michael's.(is that how it's spelled?)After that we went to eat Mexican food for lunch. My mom then went to Osh to buy some plants. Meanwhile me and my sister went to Petco and looked at cool pets like rats, hamsters, mice, and chinchillas. After that my sister and I frolicked to the fish section. There was one that caught our eyes. It was a fish where you could see all the fish's bones! CREEPY<:O! Then my sister pulled me to the bird section where we saw all types of finches. "They're so cute" I heard us say. Around the corner there were parrots! One of them was sick looking and the other one was so healthy it was like a bird acrobat. It was climbing all over its cage. For a while we were enjoying looking at the bird until my sister turned her head and her wide smile turned into this horrified look. "What?" I asked her. She said,"There's a big tarantula over there!" Wha' do you know, a tarantula! We slowly made our way to the adoption center. EMPTY!! We then went home and I started to write this post.

What I plan on doing with my Blog

Well, for the past few months I haven't been blogging too much and I don't think that that is too good. This morning me and my siblings thought that it would be nice to post some of my drawings on my blog. I want to show people my progress in my drawing and I think that that would be nice. I love to draw and I want to show my pictures to people. So the next post I put on my blog will be a picture. I hope you'll see it!
