Taiwan Places: Taipei 101

So this last week, me and my family went to Taiwan. My dad was on a business trip so we didn't get to sight see with him a lot, so me my mom and my brother went to many places on our own. One of the first places we went was Taipei 101. In 2004 this building was the largest building in the world, but now it is only the second or third largest. I'm not sure. So that day we ate breakfast, my dad went to work, and we took a taxi there. There was a sign on there that said "101" in blue and green font.

When we went inside, we walked up to a person and asked him where we could get our tickets to get near the top. He said to go to the 5th floor. There we bought our tickets and waited in line to go in a really fast elevator. In the elevator, the ceiling lit up and strange music played. I bet that it's impossible to go up or down that elevator without having your ears get plugged. We were even instructed to swallow to stop the plugging. After a not so long elevator ride, we were on the 88th floor. Taipei 101 has 101 floors, but the highest we got was the 99th floor. But that's ok on the 88th floor, we saw all around Taipei. The audio tour talked about all sorts of things like the zoo, different bridges, and famous buildings. We also learned about the damper. The damper is a large ball that is suspended in the building to help it not be knocked over during an earthquake. I think it is the only damper shown to the public in a building.
The Damper
We also saw another exhibit that told us that the elevator we just took was the fastest in the world! It rushes up the building at a speed of 1010 meters per minute. Wow! No wonder our ears got plugged. After that we went up 3 flights of stairs to the 99th floor. It was really hard to breathe for me. It didn't have too great of a view, but it was cool. After all this fun we went to the basement and ate lunch. I didn't have a ton to eat, but I had tea with a type of tapioca called that our family calls boba. The first time I had boba was near my sister's school. My conclusion is that if you ever get the chance go to Taipei 101

Taiwan

Currently, me and my family are located in Taiwan. I like it. But it's really hot. Since everyone has one here, my mom bought me a sun umbrella. It actually comes in handy. Today we went to  Taipei 101. I dont know what place it takes in largest building but it was HHHHUUUUUUGE. My dad is at work right now but we're surviving without him. Stuffmagiggers ( I couldn't think of a title)

So I've been thinking about different things this summer. Like who will my teachers be next year or what will I do for my birthday. Turns out, this summer has given me time to do that. Usually we spend our summer in different places away from home. Right now I just sit at home and think. It an get boring. But I think my dad is taking me and my family to Taiwan in JUly. I dunno, I can't think about what to write. Soooooooo

Summer

Yep. That's right. Summer. No school, no homework, no teachers, or late night projects. Do you know what this means? It means I made it through sixth grade! WOOOOOWW. These days I've been learning my mom's original language, Filipino (Tagalog). Its really fun. My brother made me a small stack of books for me to read. In this stack, the books include Tm Sawyer, Larklight, By the Great Horn Spoon, Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, and Murder in Mesopotamia. Lots of reading. Today we unexpectedly had to walk home from a car repair place. Unfortunately I was wearing Flip-Flops and my feet were pink when I came home. I also talk a lot these days to my friend, Becky. She is funny and makes a lot of nice jokes. :) On the last day of school, I was nominated by my piers to get an award for being nice kind and respectful and laughing at jokes even though they may not be funny. Interesting. Tomorrow me and my family may go swimming in the morning when no one is there. I like the idea. Tonight I hope that me and my family will play Monopoly together. Anyways.

Computer Programming Fun

So recently I've been going to a club at school that teaches me computer programming. It's so much fun. We meet every Friday after school. Me and a few of my friends go there and we all have stayed there for more than one week so I guess its fun. :) There are students from the high school across the street who teach us about how to make fun games. There is this one teacher , Colin, who is ultra nice and actuall teaches me new stuff. Some of the other teachers just walk around and are the "what he said" sort of people. I'm glad that there is someone like Colin in the group, so I actually learn something. So that's all. :)

Community Garden!!

So, I was sitting at the breakfast table with my family and we were talking about jobs. My dad came up with this fabulouse idea for me to do. He said that it would be cool for me to open a community garden on our church's property. Our church has all this land that is not being used, so I think that it would be a good idea. First I would need to ask the church if they would let me use the land. That won't take very long.....i don't think. Also I would have to clear off some of the weeds of the land, because that land is messy. I probably would want to get funds for this too ._. This thing is probably going to be expensive because I would have to buy wood(for planter boxes), Soil, seeds, and a lot more stuff...I'll also ask some of my friends to he lp me in this, cause I have a friend who loves to garden and I think that she would like the idea. I will blog more information later.
